Historically, the Canary Islands have been recognized for the remarkable quality of their white varietals, most famously the “Canary” wines, originally produced from ancient Malvasía vines native to Tenerife. The relatively recent but exponential development of viticulture in the Canary Islands, driven by a deep understanding of our native grape varieties—many of them unique in the world—has led to the emergence of our wines as a major surprise on the international wine scene, with a still-untapped potential.

“4 Lías” joins the ranks of premium wines made from noble white grapes originating from the Canary Islands—alongside Malvasía, Albillo Criollo, and Forastera Gomera—to produce aromatic wines with depth and balance. These wines are characterized by a subtle floral scent, pronounced minerality, and a rich, nuanced flavor with a smooth, creamy texture.

As part of the current movement to return to traditional varietals, Listán Blanco is beginning to reveal its potential in the production of top-tier Canarian wines. This resurgence is thanks to the tireless work of local winemakers seeking out the unique traits that allow this grape to express its full personality. The project to craft a premium Listán Blanco from vineyards over 850 meters above sea level represents an innovative approach rooted in respect for tradition. This wine marks the first white wine aged on lees produced by Bodega El Lomo.

The lees used in this wine come from a very special vineyard sheltered within a volcanic caldera in the Tacoronte region. Its ideal geographic and climatic conditions support the cultivation of four exceptional and distinctive varietals: Gual, Albillo Criollo from La Palma, Vijariego Blanco, Baboso Blanco, and Verdello (a vine originating from El Hierro).

"4 Lías" stands out for its unique character, straw-yellow color with golden reflections from lees aging, and its ripe fruit aromas. Harmonious, full-bodied, and long on the palate, it offers a well-balanced structure with natural acidity.

- Respect for biodiversity

- Minimal tillage of plots

- Royat cordon pruning

- Extensive manual work: green pruning, shoot thinning, topping, and clearing

- Continuous renewal of trellising

- Respect for raw material. The selected grapes are destemmed and gently crushed, then immediately cooled to 10°C and undergo pre-fermentation maceration for 4 to 6 hours to enhance aromatic expression.

- Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 16°C and 18°C.

- The wine is then kept at low temperatures to preserve varietal aromas and aged on lees for 8 months with weekly bâtonnage, achieving a fuller mouthfeel and greater intensity.

Appearance: Clean and bright, straw-yellow with golden highlights.

Nose: Complex, with ripe stone fruit aromas (plum and peach), pastry notes from the lees, and hints of white flowers and balsamic herbs typical of the growing environment (fennel).

Palate: Fresh and powerful, with a distinct mineral character from volcanic soils, a balanced and generous flavor profile, and a long, aromatic finish full of personality.

Serve between 16–18°C. Pairs well with pastas, smoked and cured cheeses, tollos (dried shark stew), traditional Tegueste marinade, ropa vieja, goat meat, rabbit in salmorejo, and marinated meat or fish.
